SMS Terms & Consent

1. Program Description

Suzy AI powers automated SMS guest communication for independent motel and hotel properties. When a property uses Suzy AI, guests may receive and send text messages to the property's designated phone number. All messages are transactional and relate exclusively to the guest's current stay.

2. Types of Messages Guests Receive

Messages sent through Suzy AI are limited to:

  • Responses to questions about the property (check-in/check-out times, Wi-Fi, parking, amenities)
  • Confirmation of requests or escalation acknowledgments
  • Pre-arrival information such as check-in instructions (if enabled by the property)
  • Safety-related escalation notifications where required

Suzy AI does not send promotional, marketing, or advertising messages. All messages are strictly operational and related to the guest's reservation.

3. Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on guest activity. Suzy AI only responds when a guest initiates a conversation or when the property sends a pre-arrival notification. Guests are never contacted after checkout, and all message history is purged within 24 hours of the checkout date.

4. Consent Flow

Consent to receive automated SMS messages is obtained at the point of booking or check-in through the property's reservation system. By providing your phone number to a Suzy AI-powered property, you acknowledge and agree to receive automated SMS messages related to your stay.

Properties are required to display the following disclosure at the point of phone number collection:

“By providing your phone number, you consent to receive automated SMS messages about your stay from this property via Suzy AI. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.”

5. How to Opt Out

You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from the property's Suzy AI number. Your number will be immediately added to the opt-out list and you will receive no further automated messages.

Supported opt-out keywords: STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, QUIT, CANCEL. All are handled identically — your number is blacklisted instantly with no further contact.

To re-subscribe after opting out, contact the property directly or reply START.

7. Carrier Fees

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Suzy AI does not charge guests for SMS messages, but your carrier's standard messaging rates may apply.

8. Data Handling

Your phone number and message content are stored securely and used only to provide guest communication services for the property. All guest PII — including phone numbers and message content — is automatically purged within 24 hours of checkout. Your data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties. 9. Supported Carriers

Suzy AI messages are delivered via Twilio's A2P 10DLC-registered messaging infrastructure. Service is available on all major U.S. carriers including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and regional carriers. Carrier support is not guaranteed for all carriers or devices.
